Day 21 Sunday May 28 Little Bavington to Maften Hill House 19 k

Getting ready to leave Rothbury, with our taxi driver Mark
We were dropped off part way along the route, at Little Bavington
A folly - built to look like a miniature castle
Canal at Hallington
Three dogs on an ATV -
who all jumped off to say hello
Hallington Hall
Ivy Cottage - perfect for retirement
Lots of fields with old plough lines, remains of walls and structures
Hedgerows and trees along the route
Hard to get a good photo at this distance - but they were the only llamas we've seen... so far
Surprised a bird as we walked along
Many gates had huge dressed stones on each side
Stone walls snaking into the distance
More fields of canola
Among the fields of barley...
Lunch in Great Wittington - the pub was closed, but we used their picnic tables
The garden at the Queen's Head
Brand new babies
Remains of a windmill
Fields of broad beans
Joining the Hadrian's Wall path
Scott under surveillance
Something for everyone
Down into Hadrian's ditch
Off the main path, to our B&B
Matfen High House B&B
The date over the door is 1753
View from our window towards the stables
